Terms

Terms and conditions

These terms cover your use of the Trayner app and this website. Trayner is made by Just Get Visible Ltd (“we”, “us”). By using Trayner you agree to them. If you don’t, please don’t use it.

How we handle your data is in the privacy policy. It forms part of these terms.

1. Using Trayner

Trayner is for people aged 13 and over. If you’re under 18, you should use it with the knowledge of a parent or guardian. Trayner limits some advice and features for under-18s, as the privacy policy explains.

You can use most of Trayner without an account. Some features need one: backup and Trayner Together. Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You’re responsible for what happens under it.

We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use Trayner on your own devices for your own use. Please don’t copy it, reverse engineer it, resell it, or use it to build a competing product. Don’t use it to break the law, to harass anyone, or to put load on our systems that isn’t ordinary use.

2. Training, food and health: your judgement comes first

Trayner gives training, nutrition and recovery guidance. It is not medical advice, and it doesn’t diagnose or treat anything. It is no substitute for a doctor, physiotherapist or registered dietitian.

  • Speak to a doctor before you start a new training or eating programme if you have a medical condition, an injury, are pregnant, or aren’t sure it’s safe for you.
  • Stop if something hurts, or if you feel dizzy, faint or unwell. Don’t train through pain because an app said to.
  • Recovery scores, readiness and body-composition figures are estimates worked out from the signals Trayner can see. They aren’t medical measurements.

Lifting carries a risk of injury. You choose what you do, what weight you load, and whether you have a spotter. You use Trayner’s guidance at your own risk, to the extent the law allows.

3. AI coaching, scans and form checks

Coaching lines, chat replies, plans, recaps, insights and scan results are written by AI models. They can be wrong. Food photo scans are estimates; calories and macros from a photo can be out by a margin. Check anything that matters, especially allergies and medical dietary needs.

A form check is an assessment of the video you filmed, for the lifts Trayner currently covers. It can only judge what’s clearly in frame, and it isn’t a replacement for a coach who can see you in person. It can’t tell you a lift is safe.

You can turn AI coaching off in Settings ▸ Data ▸ AI coaching. The privacy policy says what is sent and to whom.

4. Your content

What you put into Trayner is yours: workouts, food logs, photos, videos, chats, notes. You give us permission to store, process and send it as needed to run the features you use, as the privacy policy describes, and for no other purpose. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from the retention periods in the privacy policy.

You’re responsible for what you share. Only upload photos or videos you have the right to use, and only film other people with their permission.

5. Trayner Together

Trayner Together has its own rules, which you agree to in the app before you use it. Those rules apply alongside these terms. If you break them, we can remove what you wrote, remove you from a Circle, or stop your account using Together.

Things you share in a Circle are seen by its members. Think before you share, and report anything that shouldn’t be there from inside the app.

6. Subscriptions and the free trial

Trayner has a free plan and a paid plan, Trayner Pro. Pro is sold as a monthly or annual subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The store shows the price, in your currency, before you buy.

  • Free trial. New accounts get a 14-day trial of Pro. It needs no card. When it ends, your account returns to the free plan and nothing is charged. A trial can be used once.
  • Payment and renewal. Payment is taken by Apple or Google, not by us. A Pro subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it.
  • Cancelling. Cancel in your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings, at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
  • Refunds. Apple and Google handle refunds under their own policies. Ask them first. If something went wrong on our side, email support@trayner.app.
  • Changes. We may change what’s in each plan or the price of a subscription. If you’re already subscribed, a price change reaches you through the store, which asks for your agreement where the law or its rules require it.

Fair use. Pro features such as form checks are described as fair use, not unlimited. There’s a high ceiling on how many a day we process, set so that someone training normally never reaches it. If you reach it, you’ll be told and asked to wait for a cool-down. You won’t be charged for it.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep Trayner running, but we don’t promise it will always be available or error-free. Features that depend on third parties, such as AI providers, Apple Health, Health Connect or the app stores, can change or stop without notice. We may update, change or remove features.

Data kept only on your phone isn’t backed up by us unless you turn backup on. If you lose your phone without a backup, we can’t recover it.

8. Our responsibility

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t lawfully be limited: for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for your statutory rights as a consumer. If you’re a consumer, those rights, including that digital content must be as described and fit for purpose, still apply.

Subject to that, we aren’t responsible for losses that weren’t a foreseeable result of our breach, for loss of data you chose not to back up, or for injury or harm from training or eating decisions you made using Trayner’s guidance. Our total liability to you for anything arising from Trayner is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim, or £100 if you paid nothing.

9. Ending your use

You can stop using Trayner at any time. To delete your account, go to Settings ▸ Account ▸ Delete account. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel a paid subscription; cancel that in the store (section 6).

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or Together’s rules, or that puts other people or our service at risk. Where we reasonably can, we’ll tell you why.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we make a material change, we’ll say so on this page and, where it affects how you use Trayner, in the app. If you keep using Trayner after a change, you accept the new terms. If you don’t, you can stop and delete your account.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear any dispute. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in another country, you keep the protection of your local consumer law and may bring a claim in your own courts.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms: support@trayner.app. We’ll reply within one month.
