FAQ

Nutrition questions

What does Trayner’s nutrition tracker do?

It lets you log meals, analyse a meal from a photo and track calories, protein, carbohydrates and fat against daily targets – in the same app as your training.

Can Trayner analyse a meal from a photo?

Yes. Take a photo of your meal and Trayner identifies the foods on the plate and estimates their calories and macros. You can review and adjust the result before you log it.

Can Trayner estimate calories from food photos?

Trayner can analyse a photo of your meal and estimate its calories and macros. Because portion sizes and ingredients aren’t always visible from a photo, the result is an estimate rather than an exact measurement. Check it and adjust it if needed before you log the meal.

Does Trayner track protein, carbohydrates and fat?

Yes, along with calories. Trayner also tracks fibre, sugar and sodium.

Can I track my daily calories in Trayner?

Yes. Your day shows calories and macros against your targets, so you can see what you’ve eaten and what’s left.

Does Trayner adjust nutrition based on my workouts?

Partly. Your water and post-workout protein targets follow what you trained. If you turn on carb cycling, your carbohydrate targets follow your training days. Your calorie target doesn’t change on training days by default.

Can I view previous meals?

Yes. Meals you log are saved to your history, so you can look back at previous days and see how your nutrition changes over time.

Does Trayner replace a dietitian or nutrition professional?

No. Trayner helps you track what you eat alongside your training. It doesn’t give medical or clinical nutrition advice. If you have a medical condition or specific dietary needs, speak to a registered dietitian or your doctor.

How accurate is food photo analysis?

It’s an estimate, not a measurement. Results depend on the photo, the portion size and ingredients that aren’t visible. For the most reliable numbers, review the foods and portions before you log the meal.
